Premel - Transport Security Compliance

Business Resilience and Security Risk Management

With the recent increase to Australia’s National Security Alert Level, now is the time to ensure that your key assets are adequately protected to safeguard the ongoing operation of your business. Premel security risk assessments are of the highest standard and are undertaken pursuant to ISO 31000:2018 and Australian Standard HB 167:2006.

A security risk assessment is also a requirement for the development and regulatory approval of your Transport Security Program or Maritime Security Plan. We specialise in security risk management across the aviation, maritime and offshore oil and gas sectors.

At Premel we use the PPRR Risk Management Model as a base for our security risk management and business resilience service. This model is used Australia-wide by all levels of government and is specifically used by the Department of the Attorney General and the Department of Home Affairs, Aviation and Maritime Security (formerly the Office of Transport Security or DOTARS).

The PPRR Risk Management Model is:

  • Prevention– Take action to reduce or eliminate the likelihood or impact of an incident. This is achieved through a Security Risk Assessment and Risk Mitigation Plan.
  • Preparation– Take steps to ensure an effective response and recovery program are in place. This is achieved through the development of your Transport Security Program, Maritime Security Plan, Offshore Security Plan or other Emergency Management Plan.
  • Response– This is to contain, control or minimise the impact of an incident. This can be achieved through either your Emergency Response Plan or as a component of your Transport Security Program, Maritime or Offshore Security Plan.
  • Recovery – Take steps to minimise disruption and recovery times. This is achieved through the development of a Recovery Plan.
